Wauwatosa Curling Club
2024 Krautspiel
Embrace the smells!

March 2, 2024

On behalf of Corey, Brian and myself, we are honored to announce that registration for the Wauwatosa Krautspiel has been open.

Saturday, March 2nd at 8:30am. 3 Four End games with some of the most amazing "kraut" inspired food sprinkled throughout the day. First 32 curlers who pay $30 will have the opportunity to enjoy one of our oldest traditional events that dates back almost to our very beginnings.

We look forward to seeing you there and hope you come prepared for what will truly be a gastronomical experience.

And yes, the Wolz Cabbage Rolls will be present. Because, as Tevye once told me, “Juice, without tradition, our lives would be as shaky as you in the hack after a few pro pros. Tradition!” We then danced and did a choreographed musical number on the ice. All very spontaneous. It ended up holding up the 9pm draw. You might have read about it when Torgy emailed the next day discouraging such shenanigans, but we had a good time and made a good point to all who bared witness. Much like the cabbage rolls, it was transcendent. Either way, I digress. We look forward to seeing you all.

Our Location

7300 W Chestnut Street
Wauwatosa, WI 53213

We are located 6 miles west of downtown Milwaukee. Our club shares the Muellner Building with the Senior Center in Wauwatosa's Hart Park.

About the Wauwatosa Curling Club

The Wauwatosa Curling Club played its first game in 1921 in a shed that was part of Stickney Field Club on Stickney Avenue, just south of where Wauwatosa's City Hall now stands. In 1925 the shed was moved to what is now Hart Park and play continued there until 1941, when the Club began in its current location, the Muellner Building.

The Club uses four sheets of ice to play and has a clubhouse downstairs with lockers available for members' use, a bar and a full kitchen for preparing meals and snacks. We enjoy a postgame tradition called broomstacking, where members socialize with their team and their opponents' team.
